Future Presents
Interactive installation for the exhibition Espejo de Luz
As part of the creative team behind Espejo de Luz, an exhibition by Timbo Estudio commissioned by ProImágenes Colombia, I contributed to the design of Future Presents, an interactive installation that invites visitors to forge new narratives by working together.
The installation draws from an extensive database of hundreds of Colombian films, broken down into elements such as characters, conflicts, locations, time periods, genres, and more. Based on this data, we developed a generative system functioning as a cinematic exquisite corpse, allowing participants to mix and match narrative fragments to create entirely new and speculative storylines.
Each interaction generates a unique combination, resulting in literally millions of possible outcomes (376.000.000 if we want to be exact). The system recorded every synopsis created by the visitors, forming a collective archive of imagined futures. The visual interface encouraged playful exploration and critical thinking about representation, history, and recurring themes in Colombian cinema.
Future Presents is a playful yet critical experience that transforms the audience into authors and reframes the cinematic archive as a living material for collective creation.
